Sheldrake River, Mamaroneck, NY, 1997
This highly visible streambank restoration project combined technical erosion control needs with aesthetics in the midst of a suburban street. The project aimed at reinforcing the native vegetation along the stream as well as serving erosion control purposes. Although received with skepticism at the outset, the project is now applauded by local residents as a significant improvement over previous conditions.
